Govt will offer improved rehabilitation package: VS
Thiruvananthapuram, Feb 27 (UNI) Kerala Chief Minister V S Achuthanandan today said an improved rehabilitation package would be offered to those who were displaced by land acquisition for rail and road connectivity of the proposed Vallarpadam International Container Transshipment Terminal.
Briefing newspersons here, after a Cabinet meeting, the Chief Minister said a Cabinet Sub-Committee comprising Revenue Minister K P Rajendran and Fisheries Minister S Sarma had finalised the package and it would be given to the beneficiaries soon.
He said a section of people, under the influence of naxal groups, was trying to create tension in the area during the eviction process.
