Animals given Anthrax vaccine: Minister

Hyderabad, Feb 27 (UNI) All susceptible animals have been vaccinated with live spore Anthrax vaccine in the wake of outbreak of the disease in Andhra Pradesh, Animal Husbandry Minister Mandali Budda Prasad informed the State Assembly today.

Five sheep and four heads of cattle in Chittor District, Eight sheep in Mahaboobnagar District, three sheep in Prakasam District, a sheep in Kurnool District died due to Anthrax in the last two months, he said while replying to Mr G Muddhukrishnama Naidu (Cong) during Question Hour.

The vaccine would be administered for every nine months for a period of three years, he said.
