New rail coach factory to be set up in Kerala: Lalu

New Delhi, Feb 26: Railway Minister Lalu Prasad today said a rail coach factory will be set up in Kerala and the state government has made available 1000 acres of land for the purpose. In his Railway budget 2008-09 speech , the Minister said the decision to set up the factory in Kerala comes in the wake of the steady rise in demand for metro coaches in the country.

There has been an export demand too for supply of coaches from Malaysia, Philippines, Vietnam, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Tanzania, Myanmar, Angola, Senegal and Male, he said.
