Villagers assault OC for molesting dalit woman

Samastipur, Feb 25: The villagers of Lalpur Tola under Hathauri police station in the district assaulted an Officer-in-Charge (OC) for allegedly molesting a dalit woman here late last night.

Police said here today the incident occurred when OC Dinbandhu Jha entered a dalit woman's house in a drunken condition and molested her. As she started shouting, the villagers rushed to the spot and beat up the OC and injured him.

The villagers also snatched the OC's service revolver and cellphone which were later returned to the administration after their intervention, the sources said, adding that the injured OC was admitted to the Samastipur Sadar Hospital.
