Security tightened for the coming HP Assemebly session
Shimla, Feb 25 (UNI) Tight security arrangements have been made for the Budget session of the Himachal Pradesh Assembly, which begins here on March four, an official spokesman said today.
The meeting in this regard was held here under the chairmanship of Assembly secretary Goverdhan Singh, DIG (Southern Range) Pradeep Kumar, Shimla SP RM Sharma, SP (CID) Daljeet Singh Thakur, Shimla ADM P L Negi and Home Guard Commandment B S Chauhan, he said in a release here.
The spokesman said it has been decided in the meeting that passes issued for the officers gallery, visitors and mediapersons should be prominently displayed to prevent any inconvenience due to frisking by the security personnel.
In view of the security arrangements and to prevent any inconvenience to the journalists covering the assembly proceedings, their entry has been restricted through gate numbers three, four, five and six only, he said.
Besides, only vehicles of ministers, legislators, chief secretary, additional chief secretary and principal secretaries would be allowed parking inside the Vidhan Sabha premises, while those of mediapersons would be allowed parking on the road between the Assembly and office of the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) here, he added.
