Rs 74 cr sanctioned for JLNURM houses

Chandigarh, Feb 25 (UNI) A sum of Rs 74 crore has been sanctioned under the Jawahar Lal Nehru Urban Renewable Mission to construct 7574 houses and rehabilitate the poor people in Panchkula district of Haryana.

An official spokesman said during the first phase, 2388 houses would be constructed and Rs 21.52 crore had been sanctioned out of which Rs 17.22 crore would be the share of the Central Government.

He said a total amount of Rs 22.16 crore had been sanctioned to construct 2457 houses in the second phase and Rs 17.73 crore would be the share allocated by the Central Government.

Similarly, an amount of Rs 22.09 crore had been sanctioned to construct 2449 houses in the third phase, with the Central share being Rs 17.67 crore.

He said under this scheme, Rs 2.59 crore would be spent to construct 130 houses in Kalka and Rs 3.79 crore would be spent to construct 150 houses in Pinjore.
