Lankan national arrested in Tiruchirapalli

Tiruchirapalli, Feb 25: A Sri Lankan national was arrested for staying without any valid documents at suburban Edamalaipattipudur near here last night.

Police said Sundarasa alias Thiyagarasa alias Sridhar (41) hailing from Sri Lanka, was intercepted by the police when he was moving in a suspicious manner. During interrogation Sundarasa said he had arrived here in 1986, and from that time he was staying in Edamalaipattipudur without proper documents.

Sundarasa was remanded to the judicial custody, police said.
