Govt to explore ways to sanction appointment of Urdu teachers
Patna, Feb 25 (UNI) The Bihar government would try to accord the 'sanction' for appointment of 26 Urdu teachers, recruited in project schools during 1984-85, which came under the scanner of the finance department.
Human Resources Minister Brishen Patel today assured the state legislative council that the government would explore ways to accord sanction to appointment of Urdu teachers, despite objections raised by the finance department, citing they were recruited in violation of norms.
He admitted that his department had sent the list of those Urdu teachers along with others to the finance department for its approval but it had raised objections on their appointment on technical grounds.
''In the interest of Urdu students studying in concerned project schools, the state government is exploring ways for regularisation of the services of Urdu teachers,'' Mr Patel said while replying to Prof Nawal Kishore Yadav who raised the issue through a call attention in the House.
Meanwhile,BJP member Ms Kiran Ghai initiated the debate on the Governor's address to the joint sitting of both Houses of the state legislature and said a new era of development and prosperity had been ushered in Bihar after the NDA government was voted to power in 2005. JD(U)'s Mohammad Aslam Azad and Balram Chaudhary also participated in the debate.
Earlier, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Ramashrya Prasad Singh laid the copy of the state budget for 2008-09 in the House, which was earlier presented in the Assembly by deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi who also holds the finance portfolio.
