G T Deve Gowda urges the Governor to settle Sugar cane price issue

Mysore, Feb 25 (UNI) Former Karnataka Minister and BJP leader G T Deve Gowda today urged Governor Rameshwar Thakur to settle the issue of fixing the Sugar cane prices immediately.

Speaking at a press conference here, he said that the Sugar cane farmers had been struggling since many days seeking Rs 200 per ton additional amount, however the Government delaying in taking decision on this issue, despite the farmers protest all over the state.

He said that BJP would launch a statewide agitation against the Government's alleged failure to take steps to safeguard the interests of Sugar cane farmers, Mr Gowda said that BJP has convened Executive meeting of the party to chalkout future course of action on the issue.
