60 kg of poppy husk seized in Sangrur

Sangrur, Feb 25 (UNI) Police seized 60 kg of poppy husk from a jeep abandoned by the owner near Channo village of this district today.

According to DSP Pritpal Singh Thind, a police patrol near Channo village signalled a speeding jeep to halt.

However, the occupants fled leaving the vehicle behind. On searching the vehicle, police found three packets of poppy husk weighing 20 kg each.

Investigations later revealed that the occupants were Billoo Singh of Khedi Gillan and his son Ginder Singh.

Police has registered a case under sections 15, 61 and 85 of NDPS against the absconding father-son duo, Mr Thind said.
