Two Hindi-speaking people shot dead by Karbi ultras
Guwahati, Feb 24 (UNI) Two Hindi-speaking people were killed when suspected Karbi militants opened indiscriminate fire in Rangnagar village in Assam's Karbi Anglong district early this morning. Karbi Anglong Additional Superintendent of Police N Goswami informed that black-dressed militants stormed into the village, under Bokolia police station, at about 0500 hours and started indiscriminate firing. While others managed to escape, two people sustained bullet injuries. One of them Biswanath Chauhan, died on the spot, while the other, Radheshyam Chauhan passed away on the way to the hospital. Both were from Kaki area in neighbouring Nagaon district and were visiting Rangnagar village with a marriage proposal. The Karbi Longri NC Hills Liberation Front (KLNLF) is suspected behind the killing.
