SWR cancels Chennai-B bound trains

Bangalore, Feb 24 (UNI) The South-Western Railway (SWR) tonight cancelled three trains bound Chennai, following derailment of three empty rakes of a train at Chennai Central yard.

Chennai-Bangalore Shatabdi Express (Train No 2027) scheduled to leave at 1730 hrs this evening and Chennai-Bangalore Shatabdi Express (2028) tomorrow at 0600 hrs were cancelled.

Bangalore-Chennai Special scheduled to leave here at 2300 hrs also was cancelled, Railway sources said.

Three empty rakes of a train had derailed near the Basin Bridge yard when the train was being shunted back from Chennai Central Railway station.
