New Delhi, Feb 24: An enhanced security apparatus has been put in place around Parliament House in view of the Budget session beginning from Feb 25. All through the nearly three month-long session, section 144 of the CRPC will be in force in the area surrounding Parliament complex, Delhi Police spokesperson Rajan Bhagat said.

All dharnas and demonstrations have been banned in the area during the period, the spokesperson said. Additional deployment of police personnel will be done to bolster the security apparatus. Other measures being undertaken to man security in the area include carrying out additional frisking of passers by and installing more metal detectors, he added.

''The police personnel have been asked to be on a state of high alert to any suspicious activity,''the spokesperson said. Though the spokesperson termed the enhanced security as a routine measure during a session of Parliament, the enhanced security could also be in part due to intelligence inputs about militant outfits planning terror strike in the city.

Earlier this week, the Delhi Police recieved intelligence inputs that some militant outfits were planning to create terror in the national Capital by targetting some prominent locations.

Though the input was of general nature, the police stepped up security in Delhi so as not to take any chance, Police officials said.

In fact, following the intelligence warning, orders have been issued by Police Commissioner Y S Dadwal for an enhanced vigil at the various market places and strategic locations like railway stations, Delhi Metro stations and Inter state bus terminuses.

Earlier, the police had last month received inputs that some Kashmir-based militant outfit was planning to blow up Akshardham temple.
