SR to run 13 special trains to clear summer rush

Chennai, Feb 23 (UNI) Southern Railway will run 13 special trains to clear the extra rush of passengers during the ensuing summer season from April to June this year.

A railway release here said the summer specials would run across various sectors.

The Chennai Central-Coimbatore weekly specials would leave here at 2220 hrs starting from April 16 and reach Coimabtore at 0715 hrs the next day.

In the return direction, it would leave Coimbatore at 2330 hrs starting from April 17 and reach Chennai at 0750 hrs the next day.

The Chennai Central-Trivandrum weekly specials would leave here at 2330 hrs starting from April 16 and reach Trivandrum at 1630 hrs the next day. In the return direction, it would elave Trivandrum at 2000 hrs starting from April 17 and reach Chennai at 1230 hrs the next day.

The Chennai Egmore-Nagercoil bi-weekly specials would leave here on Thursdays and Saturdays at 2020 hrs starting from April 17 and reach Nagercoil at 1100 hrs the next day. In the return direction, it would leave Nagercoil on Fridays and Sundays starting from April 18 at 1330 hrs and reach Chennai the next day at 0415 hrs.

The Chennai Egmore-Nagercoil weekly specials would leave here on Mondays at 1900 hrs starting from April 14 and reach Nagercoil the next day at 0815 hrs. In the return direction, it would leave Nagercoil on Tuesdays at 1940 hrs starting from April 15 and reach Chennai at 0915 hrs the next day.

The Chennai Egmore-Tirunelveli tri-weekly day specials would leave here on Sundays, Tuesdays and Thursdays at 0930 hrs starting from April 13 and reach Tirunelveli at 2200 hrs same day. In the return direction it would leave Tirunelveli on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 0620 hrs and reach Chennai the same day at 1915 hrs.
