Ronen Sen to continue as US Ambassador
New Delhi, Feb 23 (UNI) The government is understood to have asked Mr Ronen Sen, Ambassador to the United States, to continue for another year.
Mr Sen, whose term expires on March 31, was being apparently given the one-year extension in view of his crucial role in the Indo-US Nuclear deal which is at a decisive stage.
High Commissioner to Pakistan, Satyabrata Pal, was tipped as successor to Mr Sen who has been the Ambassador to the US since 2004.
Mr Sen came under sharp attack by Parliamentarians, including opposition as well as Left allies of the government, last year for his infamous 'headless chicken' remark with the MPs demanding his recall.
He later apologised saying his remark was not meant for Members of Parliament but for journalists.
