One killed, another injured, eight houses gutted in Kashmir

Srinagar Feb 23 (UNI) A person was killed, another injured and eight houses and other structures gutted in separate incidents in the Kashmir valley overnight, official sources said today.

According to the sources, an Army vehicle hit and injured two cyclists Mohammad Ashraf Ganie and Reyaz Ahmad at Rawalpora.

The injured were admitted to hospital where Ashraf succumbed to his injuries.

In another incident, a fire broke out in cowshed of Abdul Qayoum Chopan at Amargarh, Sopore in north Kashmir early this morning.

Before the fire could be controlled, it engulfed four houses and three other cowsheds.

However, no one was injured in the incident, sources added.
