Information centres in panchayats across the country soon
Madhubani, Feb 23 (UNI) Union Minister of State for Communication Shakeel Ahmad today announced that one lakh community centres, equipped with internet facilities and other advanced technology for access with updated required information, would be set up at panchayats across the country.
After launching a web portal of Madhubani district here, Mr Ahmad said that one community centre each would be set up in one lakh panchayats across the country, including 8,200 panchayats of Bihar.
When these community centres come up in Panchayats, villagers would not be required to ''roam here and there'' in quest of required informations and could also send their applications for various posts through internet, he added.
''The Union Government is committed to bring the benefits IT boom to the grassroot level and all efforts were being made to achieve this mission,'' he said, adding that with the launch of Madhubani portal, anyone desiring to seek particular information about Madhubani district could avail the services of the portal.
