Bride and three family members die in accident

Puri, Feb 23 (UNI) A newly married bride and three of her family members were killed in a road accident along the Puri Konark marine drive road.

Police said the newly wed couple of Damodarpur village of Chandanpur area along with their family members were going to Kakapo to offer prayers to the Goddess Man when the accident occurred.

The vehicle in which they were travelling skidded of the Tirana bridge and dashed against a tree.

Biswajita, the bride, her mother Minati, aunt Anjana and a seven- year-old girl died on the spot.

Locals and passers-by helped to extricate the bodies, rescued the injured from the and rushed them to the Puri district headquarters hospital.

Police said the driver was absconding.

Preliminary inquiry revealed that the driver lost control of the vehicle after one of its front tyres got deflated.
