BJP never treats any comunity as vote bank : Rajnath
Dimapur, Feb 23 (UNI) BJP president Rajnath Singh today iterated that his party never treated any community as vote bank, saying, " It has the highest regard for all the communities and religions. " Addressing a press conference here, Mr Singh blamed the Congress for dividing the people of the country in the name of religions and alleged that the Congress had always meted out step-motherly treatment to the Northeast.
He said the NDA Government had accorded topmost priority to the region with special attention.
He also reminded the people of the special package to Nagaland by the then Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee.
Attacking the Congress, he alleged that the party was devoid of any issue and it had done nothing for the state.
But several developmental works had taken place in the state under the Democratic Alliance of Nagaland (DAN) in the past five years, he stated.
He claimed that the BJP would perform well in the Nagaland Assembly election.
