Another Kidney kingpin associate sent into judicial remand
Ambala, Feb 23 (UNI) A laboratory assistant, Manoj Kumar, an alleged accomplice of kidney removal racket kingpin Dr Amit Kumar, was produced by the CBI in the special CBI court here today and sent into judicial custody.
The court issued notice to the CBI for hearing on February 28 on a bail application moved by Manoj here today.
Meanwhile, the Rajasthan Police today sought remand of Dr Amit for investigation in the cases registered against him and his Alwar-based accomplice Dr K.K. Aggarwal who was sent to the judicial custody on February 20 last by the court here.
Dr Amit, after his judicial custody in the Central jail here, was lodged in the barrack number 4 where hardcore criminals are kept.
His counsel had moved an application for keeping his client separate from other hardcore criminals since there was danger to his life in view of his involvement in the ''high-profile'' kidney racket.
His counsel also expressed concern that Dr Amit was not allowed to have telephonic talk with his family members despite permission from the court.
He stated that an application with regard to Dr Amit's transfer to a Delhi jail will be moved very soon.
