Acrimonious scenes witnessed in AP Corporation
Kakinada, Feb 23 (UNI) The Kakinada Municipal Corporation Council meeting today witnessed uproarious scenes and heated discussions over the action of an MLA in taking up developmental works in the city's civic body site, ignoring the Council.
Pandemonium prevailed in the meeting, with the Telugu Desam Party(TDP) Councillors criticising MLA Mutha Gopalakrishna for taking up Rs two crore for Ananda Bharati grounds modernisation scheme under MLA grants, keeping the council in dark.
Mayor K Saroja said MLAs need not obtain Council's permission for using their constituency development funds, which sparked off protests from the TDP benches.
Earlier, purchase of ten tractors by the municipality, without observing norms and regulations, rocked the House for over an hour, with both the Congress and TDP Councillors demanding action against the errand officials.
