Aaron Carter's father on his arrest: 'I feel hurt and betrayed'

Washington, Feb 23 : Hip hop singer Aaron Carter's father Bob Carter has expressed his dismay over the singer's arrest for possession of marijuana, saying he feels betrayed.

Aaron, younger brother of 'Backstreet Boys' singer Nick Cater, was arrested in Texas when he was pulled over for speeding and was found to have less than 2 ounces of marijuana in his car.

"I'm just totally floored by this," People quoted Bob as saying.

"Other people suspected he had a problem, but I denied it and didn't believe it. But now I feel hurt and betrayed, because I see that everything wasn't what I thought it was.

"His new managers are trying to convince him that I'm the reason he's going broke. It's not true; I don't live off Aaron's money," he added.

Bob said he hopes the arrest will serve as a wake-up call to his 20-year-old son.

"Aaron has always thought he was invincible," he said.

"Sometimes it takes a knock in the head to get people back on track. I hope that's what happens here," he added.

Bob also pledged to help his son with anything he needs.

"The bottom line is that I love my son very much. It's important that he knows that I will do anything for him," he said.
