Special grasses attract migratory birds to Jaipur
Jaipur, Feb 22, 2008 : In an effort to attract migratory birds, special varieties of grasses are being grown at Mansagar Water Conservation Project in Jaipur.
The members associated with the project brought nearly 250 trucks of different varieties of grasses like Paspula, spedorolla and Ipomia from Bharatpur to Mansagar Lake resulting in the arrival of migratory birds in droves. Reportedly, around 1,500 foreign birds have been sighted at Mansagar Lake during this winter as compared to nearly 450 birds that visited the region last year.
