Thailand to invest USD 50 m to set up factory

Chennai, Feb 22 (UNI) Thailand will invest 50 million US Dollars for setting up an electronic spare parts manufacturing unit at suburban Oragadam.

Talking to newspersons after meeting Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi at the State Secretariat here, Thailand-India Trade Federation President Anushaan Muttard said the new factory, christened Delta Energy Systems, would come up in 45 acre area.

The factory, once operational, would provide direct employment to 10,000 local people and indirect employment to thousands of people.

Chennai was the preferred destination for investments as it had become a leading industrial city with adequate infrastructural facilities, he added.
