Student drowns in Cauvery river
Tiruchirapalli, Feb 22 (UNI) An 18-year-old second year polytechnic student drowned in river Cauvery at Mukkombu, a picnic spot near here today.
Police said the deceased Andrus, from Palakarai area in the city, studying in a private polytechnic went to Mukkombu along with his friends. All of them went into the river for taking bath when Andrus drowned.
The body was fished out and sent to Government headquarters hospital here for post-mortem, police said.
