Raj justifies his agitation after demonstration against Gavai
Mumbai, Feb 22 (UNI) Maharashtra Navnirman Sena President Raj Thackeray today said the incident of demonstration by Bihar legislators against governor R S Gavai, asking him to 'leave the state' shows why he was forced to agitate for the protection of Maharashtrian culture.
Mr Thackeray said Maharashtra has always respected the seniors though it may have had differences with them on various issues and cited the example of governor S M Krishna, a release stated here.
He said the State has differences with Karnataka on the border issue but Mr Krishna, who is from Karnataka, has been always respected.
He said this was the very reason why he was raising the issue that political goondaism and control of Bihari and Uttar Pradeshis should not prevail in Maharashtra.
