Punjab to hold census of small enterprises

Chandigarh Feb 22 (UNI) Punjab would launch a census of micro, small and medium enterprises to collect data on production, raw material, fuels, employment, exports, fixed assets, plant machinery, equipment, products, services, net worth, loan status.

All the registered/filed EM Enterprises would be surveyed by enumerators authorised by the Directorate of Industries and Commerce who would approach the enterprise for data collection during March-June, the fourth such Census in the state, Director, Industries and Commerce V.K. Janjua informed media persons here today.

An assessment of sick, incipiently sick micro and small enterprises would also be made through the Census data, which would be kept confidential and would be used for statistical purposes only, he said.
