Pix launches reality TV show on filmmaking

Mumbai, Feb 22 (UNI) English movie channel Pix has announced the launch of ''Gateway'', a reality TV show on filmmaking.

The 12-episode series, shot at filmmaker Subhash Ghai's film school- Whistling Woods here, will premiere on February 24.

Speaking to the reporters, Pix Business Head Sunder Aaron said, ''Gateway is a ground breaking reality show in search of India's most promising director, who will make a dream debut in Hollywood.

With Ashok Amritraj's help and guidance, one gem of a storyteller will get an opportunity to show his/her talent to the world through Pix and Hyde Park Entertainment. The show's format will put the contestants through a rigorous exercise of tasks that will test their creative and filmmaking abilities.'' ''There is a huge global interest in India and Indian cinema.

Gateway will prove to be a path between Indian and Hollywood. The show will feature 18 contestants who will compete intensively to get a chance to direct a Hollywood film produced by my company, Hyde Park Entertainment in Los Angeles,'' Hyde Park Entertainment Chairman and CEO said Ashok Amritraj.

The winner of the reality show will receive an eight-week internship with Ashok Amritraj. The filmmaker will use the internship to learn the workings of both the art and business of filmmaking in Hollywood before embarking on directing the Hyde Park Entertainment produced film.

The show has also assembled an impressive team of guest judges, who will feature in every episode as a prominent jury member.

Renowned directors like Subhash Ghai, Karan Johar, Sanjay Gupta, R Balakrishnan, Sanjay Gupta, Shriram Raghavan and Manish Acharya will be part of the show.
