Mandala Vineyards appoints Chatonnet as Oenologist

Bangalore, Feb 22(UNI) Mandala Valley Vineyards, aiming to make a foray into premier wine market, today announced appointment of a Oenologist and Scientist Pascal Chatonnet of Bordeaux as its consultant.

Announcing the appointment at a press conference here, Mandala Valley Managing Director Ramesh Rao said, "As a world-renowned wine consultant and scientist, Dr Chatonnet bring immense depth of knowledge and experience to our wine making. He will be responsible for wine style development, wine quality assessment and review and benchmark the wines produced by Mandala Valley." Speaking on his appointment, Dr Chatonnet said, "It is a unique opportunity to see the development of the vineyards and wine making in India and to offer my expertise as a wine consultant to Mandala Valley who have set their goals high on making fine wines".

Replying to a question, Mr Rao said that India was emerging as a major wine market and Mandala Valley wanted to utilise the opportunity to take a firm footing and build a brand before starting export to foreign countries.
