Kalmad urges north Indians not to leave city

Pune, Feb 22 (UNI) Congress MP Suresh Kalmadi today urged migrant north Indians not to leave the city as they had the equal right to live in any part of the country as per the Indian constitution.

A Congress delegation, led by the Kalmadi, visited Pune railway station this morning, and requested north Indians not to leave the city and assured to provide them protection.

He said Pune was a cosmopolitan city and had the capacity to absorb people from all over the country.

Kalmadi said anti-social elements were taking advantage of the situation. He said he had spoken to the state Chief Minister in this regard.

The Congress leader also appealed to the Pune police commissioner to provide protection to the migrant population.
