Guard goes berserk, opens indiscriminate fire in E Delhi area
New Delhi, Feb 22 (UNI) The Delhi Police today arrested a security guard of an automobile showroom who in a ''state of depression'' opened indiscriminate fire on the security personnel and the people, but there were no reports of any casualty.
Police arrested guard Kamruddin, 45, a resident of Bharatpur in Rajasthan, for the ''irresponsible and dangerous'' act.
He had joined Fair Deal Maruti showroom on February 14.
On the day, Police said another security guard informed him about the presence of a thief in the vicinity.
During interrogation, Kamruddin said he first fired a round at the ''thief'' and later in a ''state of depression'' started firing indiscriminately at the police and public as well.
However, no one was wounded in the firing, police added.
One single barrel gun of 12 bore, three live cartridges, four misfired cartridges, 13 empty cartridges and one cartridge belt were seized from his possession.
The Seema Puri police have registered a case of attempt to murder and arms act against him and launched investigations.
