Four members of family commit suicide

Karaikal, Feb 22: Four members of a family here allegedly committed suicide by consuming poison at their house this morning. Police said Saravanan(38), personal assistant of leader of the Opposition A M H Nazeem consumed poison with his children Pournisa(7) and Kaarnesh (2) when his wife Chitra (35), a teacher in the Karaikal Ammayar school, went to school early in the morning for a special programme.

When Chitra came home around 0900 hrs, she found her husband and children dead. The grief-stricken wife also consumed poison and died. A Financial problem was said to be the reason for taking the extreme step.
