CPI state unit to hold conference at Tarn Taran from Feb 29
Moga, Feb 22 (UNI) Punjab State Communist Party of India would hold a three-days conference at Tarn Taran from February 29 to March 2, prior to party's National Congress at Hyderabad in March-end, Secretary Punjab state CPI, Jagroop Singh said here today. The three-day party conference, to be held after a gap of more than two years, was expected to take important political decisions in view of the political situation specially in view of the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections scheduled to be held in February 2009 and decide the future prospects of ties with other parties, Mr Singh told mediapersons here.
Besides, the conference will be reviewing party's achievement and drawbacks, he said.
The three-day conference, according to Jagroop Singh would also review the present political situation with special reference to the performance and governance of the SAD-BJP alliance.
The meeting would also take up the issues like privatisation policies of the state government of health, education and of public sector undertaking like unbundling of electricity board and Punjab Roadways, recruitment on contract basis, urbanisation of the agriculture land in haphazard manner.
