Congress asks EC to be exceedingly vigilant in Tripura poll
New Delhi, Feb 22 (UNI) The Congress today appreciated the Election Comission for its elaborate arrangements made for tomorrow's assembly election in Tripura, but reminded it that the state had an "unfortunate history of CPI(M)-sponsored poll-related violence." "The EC should be exceedingly vigilant, given the past track record of CPI(M)-sponsored poll violence," AICC Spokesman Manish Tewari told mediapersons here.
He, however, appreciated the EC for putting in place stringent measures for free and fair elections in Tripura.
