Bangalore, Feb 22 (UNI) Arghyam, a Non Government Organisation working on water issues, today launched Kannada website, a platform for sharing water quality management among general public, on the lines of India Water Portal.

Arghyam Chairperson Rohini Nilkeni told reporters here today that the water portal was a partnership based collaborative website.

India Water Portal, which was opened by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh last year primarily focussed on sharing water related issues and offering solutions for the general public.

There was a need for dissemination of water related information among citizens and make them aware of various developements that led to the creation of the Kannada website, she said.

''The Kannada website is the first step and more such regional websites will follow, so that we can reach out to the public at large without language barriers,'' she added.
