UP govt to probe black marketing of foodgrains

Lucknow, Feb 20: Uttar Pradesh government was today not averse to order a high level probe after a BJP member alleged in the state assmebly that the wheat and rice worth Rs 3289 crore meant for Public Distribution System (PDS) was sold in the black market during 2006-07.

The government may think to tag the inquiry with the CBI probe already recommended in the volumnous foodgrain scam which had hit the state during 2003-05, the Food and Civil Supplies Minister Ram Chaudhary told the House.

He, however, said the media reports published in this regards could not be verified but still the government was not averse to ordering an inquiry into the scam.
