Sukhbir allowed to visit abroad
Rupnagar, Feb 20 (UNI) A local court today granted permission to the Akali Dal president Sukhbir Singh Badal,who is an accused in the disproportionate assets case against Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal and others, to visit abroad.
Sukhbir had moved an application in the court of sessions Judge Rekha Mittal some days back seeking permission to visit Italy and Greece from March 1 to 7, for motivating the Punjabis settled there for making investment in Punjab.The judge had issued notice to the state for its reply, on the application for today.
In its reply the prosecution stated that it had no objection to Sukhbir visiting abroad. The court granted him permission to visit abroad and ordered the release of his passport.
The court also ordered that Sukhbir Badal would deposite his passport and participate in court proceedings regarding the case against him on the next date of hearing, after returning to India.
