Six dignitaries to get Godavari Gaurav award

Nahsik, Feb 20 (UNI) Dr Baba Adhav (People's Services), Adoor Goaplakrishnan (Film), Parvin Thipsay (Sports), Sonu Natekar (Sculptor), and Acharya Parvatikumar (Dance) and Dr Anand Karve (Science) will receive the prestigious ''Godavari Gaurav'' award at the Kunjumagraj Pratishthan this year.

The award will be presented in a ceremony at Dadsaheb Gaikward Hall, here on March 10 by Padmashree Bhavarlal Jain. The award, instituted by Kusumagraj Partishthan, honours people for their valuable contribution in their respective fields after every two years. The award comprises Rs 11,000 in cash and a memento.

Earlier, Anna Hazare, Bheemara Gasti, Dr Prakash Amte, Vijan Mehta, Poly Umrigan, Vijan Hazare, Dr Jayant Narlikar and Brinju Mahara have been honoured with the award.
