Re opens five month low at 40.62/65 per USD

Mumbai, Feb 20: The spot Rupee today resumed a five month low at 40.62/65 against US dollar from it previous day's close of 39.92/94 due to sustained dollar demand from oil importers and local foreign bankers, dealers said.

A few dealers sold the local unit aggressively to meet dollar demand from overseas investors who withdrew some funds on concerns about the global economy, said bankers. Later, it quoted between 39.95/97 and 40.65/75 per dollar, down from its previous close of 39.92/94 per dollar, dealers added.
