RADO expects over 30% value growth in India

Kolkata, Feb 20 (UNI) RADO, the noted Swiss watchmaker and leading presence in contemporary design, expects more than 30 per cent growth in value in India in the current fiscal.

Apart from opening up exclusive RADO shops in cities like Chennai, Bangalore, Ahmedabad, Chandigarh and Hyderabad, it also plans to increase its point of sales from 150 to 175, RADO's regional Sales Manager Christian Leiggener said here today on the occasion of launching the brand's first exclusive shop here.

RADO, which has 15 exclusive shops worldwide, has six in India and hopes to take it to 14 by the end of the current fiscal, including a second shop in Kolkata.

Leiggner further said, ''China, USA, Germany and Switzerland are its top four markets, but hopes India would enter the top ten markets by the end of this fiscal.'' The three brands that are most in demand in India are Sintra, Integral and Ceramica, Leiggener said.

Asked who were its closest competitors, he said, ''While Rolex, Omega and Longines were all neck and neck, Omega was the closest.

But then we are in the niche market and don't have any direct competitor so to say.

''We are unique because of our design and the hi-tech ceramic we use that we pioneered,'' he added.
