NIIT partners with Microsoft to offer enhanced educational content
New Delhi, Feb 20 (UNI) NIIT Ltd today said it has partnered with Microsoft Corporation Pvt Ltd to avail its licensed educational content for an initial investment of Rs 10 crore.
With the integration of Microsoft Authorised Curriculum into its flagship career program - GNIIT, NIIT will enable career aspirants and IT processionals to earn Microsoft Certification.
''Our partnership with Microsoft and learning content for their upcoming technologies will enhance employability of students, and help the industry retain its competitive edge globally,'' CEO NIIT, Vijay K Thadani said.
With this partnership, GNIIT program will become the first IT career program in the country to offer Microsoft Authorised Learning content.
Students will be skilled in the latest Developer and Database platforms comprising of technologies like Visual Studio, NIIT and SQL Server which will enhance their employability and make them industry-ready. The students can also appear for Microsoft Certification examinations with this program.
NIIT will also develop training programs for the soon-to-be-launched Microsoft products including Windows Server 2008, SQL Server 2008, Visual Studio 2008, and leading technologies like Silverlight, which will be offered to students across key geographics, including India and China.
This new range of programs will be rolled out across 200 NIIT education center in India and will be introduced in 30 other countries including China, in a phased manner.
NIIT has trained over 9,000 students using Microsoft's learning content, in the first phase and is targetting 100,000 students in over the next three years.
Microsoft which has 1,400 partners across the globe for providing its content has partnered with 23 companies in India.
