IBS opens its 12th global Centre in Bangalore
Bangalore, Feb 20(UNI) IBS Software, a leading provider of new-generation IT solutions to the global Travel, Transportation and Logistics (TTL) industry, opened its 12th Global Centre here today.
Speaking on the occasion, IBS Group Chairman and CEO V K Mathews told newspersons that the main purpose of opening the Centre here was to provide the ever growing Aviation sector the best products, besides taking advantage of best human resource available in the silicon city of India.
This was the third development centre in India after one each in Chennai and Thiruvananthapuram.
Mr Mathews said the Bangalore Centre, fully dedicated to Aviation sector, underscores IBS plans to expand to become a Rs 1000 Crore company by 2010. However, he declined to disclose the present turnover of the company.
He said that the company proposes to set up its own campuses at Kochi and Kozhikode and another Development Centre in Chennai.
Replying to a question, he said that the company had already acquired three companies -- one each in UK, US and Europe and looking at acquiring a couple more in the coming months as a strategy to plug the solution gap.
He also announced that its Crew Management-System 'AvientCrew' had gone live with Jet Airways. With this implementation, Jet Airways becomes the first Indian customer to IBS and also the first in the Indian aviation history to use AvientCrew to handle mission critical flight operations.
