Adventure and water sports tourism to be promoted in HP:Nanda

Shimla, Feb 20 (UNI) Keeping in view the tremendous tourism potential of Himachal Pradesh,the department of Tourism and Civil Aviation will promote adventure and water sports tourism in a phased manner.

This was disclosed at the review meeting, which was chaired by the Secretary, Tourism Manisha Nanda.

She directed the departmental officers to complete all the on-going works approved under circuit/destination schemes of centre within stipulated period so that facilitiesof these could be made available to the tourists.

Department would start the inspectiopn drive to check the unregistered hotel units and guest houses, she added.

Speaking on the occasion Tourism Commissioner Ram Subhag Singh said that from this summer season, Panchkarama would be started at Hotel Holiday Home,Shimla and by July-August end facilities related with Panchkarma would be created at Jogindernagarand at Dharamshala.

In the meeting, it was also decided that basic amenities like toilets and signages will be installed at all the entry points of the state and on the state and national highways.

Modern signages with tourist information will also be installed at allprominent tourist placces of the state besides sigh boards about historical places like Kangra Fort and temples would be installed in and around the shrines visited by the tourists.
