BSNL negates poll campaign allegation

Agartala, Feb 19: The BSNL in Tripura has rubbished the allegation of Left Front that the company was campaigning in favour of Congress-INPT-PDS combine. The party members had filed a complaint to the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) against BSNL last week.

In a statement here today, the BSNL authorities said that none of their employee was involved in the campaign. It has also clarified that the calls relating to poll campaign were made from a telephone in Mumbai, which was not a BSNL number. The ruling Left Front member had alleged that since last fortnight, people at different areas of the state have been receiving calls to cast vote in favour of the party.
