BJP urges Governor to convene all party meeting

Mysore, Feb 19: Former Karnataka Minister and Senior BJP leader K S Eshwarappa today urged Governor Rameshwar Thakur to immediately convene an All Party meeting to discuss various issues including the terrorist activities in the State.

Talking to newsmen here, he alleged that the Union Government had been showing step-motherly treatment with regard to various irrigation projects proposed by the State. Mr Eshwarappa alleged that the administration, under Governor's rule, has totally collapsed and various welfare programmes benefiting farmers, aged, women and child, proposed in the budget by the BJP-JD(S) coalition government were not implemented. Welcoming Election Commission step to go in for delimitation of the Assembly constituencies in the State, Mr Eshwarappa said that the step would lead to increase number of seats reserved for SC and STs.

"However, mid-term elections to the State Legislative Assembly should not be postponed in the name of delimitation.
