Sugar cane growers stage dharna

Mandya, Feb 18(UNI) Sugar cane growers of this district launched an indefinite dharna demanding immediate fixation of fresh price for sugar cane.

The dharna is led by Marilingaiah of Rajya Raitha Sangha to protest the delay in taking action to protect the interests of the distressed farmers.

Several pro-farmers organisations have already given a call to launch a jail bharo agitation if the government fails to fulfil their demands immediately.
