Musk deer captured in Srinagar outskirts
Srinagar, Feb 18 (UNI) A musk deer, who had come down from the forest following heavy snowfall recently, was captured by Jammu and Kashmir police in the outskirts of the city early this morning, official sources said.
They said personnel of Nigeen police station recovered a three-year-old Musk Deer at Kundanhpeth Habak Shanpora.
Later, the captured Musk Deer was handed over to Wildlife authorities at Dachigam.
This was for the second time, any wild animals was caught before attacking people in the valley.
Last week people at Anchidora in south Kashmir district captured a leopard in the village.
More than two dozen peoples were killed and about 40 others wounded by wild animals in the Kashmir valley during the past one year.
However, in retaliation, people also killed four wild animals in the valley during the same period.
