New Delhi, Feb 18 (UNI) Engineering and construction major Larsen&Toubro Ltd (L&T) today said it has received an order worth Rs 1,250 crore from Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) for the Mumbai High South field.

The project involves building three smart well platforms, 15,000 tonnes of topside and jackets, 58 km sub-sea pipelines and 22 km sub-sea cables, in addition to many state of the art and modern facilities, a statement said.

L&T will be responsible for the complete engineering, procurement, fabrication and installation of the offshore platforms.

The company will carry out the engineering design at L&T Valdel in Bangalore, while the fabrication will be carried out at L&T's shore-based manufacturing complex at Hazira near Surat, as well as at the company's fabrication facility at Sohar in Oman.

The project is scheduled for completion by April 2009.
