Kshatriya Mahasabha demands ban on 'Jodha Akbar'

Bhopal, Feb 18: The Akhil Bharatiya Kshatriya Mahasabha (ABKM) has demanded a ban on the screening of Hrithik-Aishwarya starrer 'Jodha Akbar' in Madhya Pradesh.

Mahasabha's general secretary Surendra Singh Tomar and state ABKM President Bherusingh Chouhan told reporters here today a delegation of the Mahasabha had met Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and demanded to ban the movie in the state as it tarnished the history of 'kshatriyas'.

''Nowhere in the history has it been mentioned that Rajputs had agreed to enter into marital alliance with Mughals. The film director has hurt the sentiments of a section of society for professional gains and this is not appropriate,'' Mr Tomar said.

He said the BJP government in Rajasthan had banned the film in Rajasthan keeping the feelings of Rajputs in mind. The Madhya Pradesh government should also have no objection in doing the same.

Mr Tomar warned the Mahasabha would take stern action if the government did not head to its demand.
