Industrialists satisfied with police efforts: IG
Nashik, Feb 18 (UNI) Special Inspector General of Police, Nashik range, Suryaprakash Gupta today said industrialists in the district were satisfied with efforts of the police in providing security to industries and restoring peace after the recent agitation by the Maharashtra Navanirman Sena (MNS).
Mr Gupta was speaking to mediapersons after a meeting with industrialists from Wadiwarhe, Gonde, Igatpuri, Sinnar and Dindori area of the district.
''Industrialists are satisfied with the efforts of the police. In the rural areas not many north Indians have left and as per the industrialists, those who had left, have also returned now'', the IG added.
Superintendent of Police Nikhil Gupta, DYSPs and other government officials were also present on the occasion.
According to Mr Gupta, the recent incidents suggest that the problems were less in areas where industrialists have good relations with local residents.
He said problems were going on in between locals and industrialists at Jindal Polyfilms in Mudegaon area, where a security guard was killed.
The firing incident of Walkhed was not related with the MNS agitation but is a result of personal conflict between two groups of people, the SP added.
